Back from SanDiego

I just returned from burying my Dad in San Diego. As many of you know he passed away 2 months ago and we decided for better or worse to wait to hold the memorial so that all of his grandchildren could attend. It was great to see everyone, though still a bit sad considering the circumstances. He wanted a military burial and to my surprise it was quite moving. Glad to be back home in Boulder doing my garden and seeing patients. That's all I'll say about this now as it is an unfolding journey.

Tomato Transplanting Time!

Today I went to the Boulder Farmers Market for the first time this year to get tomato plants. I will wait until it is warmer to plant them as it may get cold tonight. I look forward to having fresh tomatoes from the garden later this summer. Tomatoes are full of lycopene which is an antioxidant that helps protect against cancer. And tomatoes are great in ratatouille, homemade tomato sauce, etc. Gabriel had a great time and for the first time in his life ever didn't run out into the bike path! Good things come with age!

The Garden is In!

This year I was so busy and overwhelmed with recent family events I almost wasn't going to put in a veggie garden! What kind of a naturopathic doctor would I be without a veggie garden? ( Just joking!) But at the 11th hour I found a lovely woman who wanted to trade for my services and voila! The garden is in! So far I have planted 2 types of lettuce, lancinato kale, colllard greens and spinach. Later when the weather gets warm comes the squashes, herbs and the tomatoes. Happy spring!

My First Blog!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my first blog post! I will use this forum for my random musings and thoughts on various topics mostly related to naturopathic medicine, homeopathy, women's health, and natural pediatrics. Tune in from time to time to see what I am doing. I am currently working on the May Newsletter on sleep. As many of you know, most Americans don't get enough of it and there are serious repercussions. Stay tuned!
